La Puerta Abierta, Inc. - Bringing healing and hope to youth and families in our immigrant communities!
Mental Health Services Made Accessible
La Puerta Abierta (LPA) improves access to quality mental health care for the immigrant communities who typically face barriers to this care.
One key feature of LPA is a service learning model that builds the capital of competent, bilingual clinical providers through the training and supervision of all LPA team members, including interns, volunteers, and staff.
Building Community
In partnership with over 200 different providers across the Greater Philadelphia area and beyond, LPA receives referrals for individuals and families who face barriers to emotional healing due to language, legal, and economic constraints.
LPA’s mission depends upon its relationships with other community members, providers, and organizations that are part of the overall fabric of our society. LPA’s collaborative work is characterized by trust, transparency, and a commitment to the highest standards of learning and care.

In 2016, La Puerta Abierta (LPA) transitioned from its previous name of Intercultural Coalition for Family Wellness (ICFamWell) to more accurately represent its mission and purpose in the community: “To improve access to quality, culturally and trauma-informed mental health support in the immigrant and refugee community through collaboration, training and service.”
